Desert Symphony was photographed above Saguaro Lake in Arizona during a dramatic desert sunset. Reaching the overlook meant hiking a narrow trail with only a small clearing available to launch my drone. Standing there, I questioned whether I had enough room to safely take off and return. But sometimes the most rewarding images begin just beyond uncertainty.
As the drone climbed above the canyon, the entire landscape unfolded beneath me. Monsoon clouds gathered overhead while the final light of sunset illuminated the rugged Sonoran Desert, a breathtaking contrast of glowing cliffs, deep blue water, and an expansive Arizona sky.
