After enduring miles of rough Alaskan seas, I arrived at the foot of a mighty glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park and found this little gathering waiting for me.
Resting effortlessly across floating chunks of glacial ice, a group of harbor seals seemed completely at home in a world sculpted by water, ice and time. One looked directly toward my camera, another stretched lazily across the ice, while the others simply settled into their frozen sanctuary. Behind them, another seal rested alone, surrounded by the luminous blue tones of the glacial landscape.
There is something wonderfully joyful about Ice Break. The journey to reach them was anything but peaceful, yet the scene before me was serene, playful and almost storybook-like.
