Where the Earth Opens
Kvernufoss Waterfall, South Iceland
Some places in Iceland reveal themselves slowly. Others feel as though the earth has opened just long enough to let you glimpse something extraordinary.
Standing beneath the ancient volcanic rock at Kvernufoss, I found myself surrounded by contrasts that seemed almost impossible. Water cascaded past me in a luminous white veil. Brilliant green moss clung to the dark cliffs, while golden sunlight reached across the landscape beneath a beautiful Icelandic sky.
I wanted to photograph more than a waterfall. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing inside the landscape itself, looking outward from a place that seemed hidden from the rest of the world.
The small reflection in the foreground, the textures of the ancient stone, and the delicate movement of water all became part of a scene that felt both powerful and intimate.
Where the Earth Opens is my invitation to step beyond the familiar and discover the extraordinary beauty waiting just out of sight.

Every piece is crafted with the same care as the photograph itself. Choose from two handcrafted float frames or a crystal-clear acrylic face mount.
Black Float Frame
A sleek, modern black float frame that suspends the print with a subtle reveal around all edges, giving the artwork a gallery-quality depth and presence.
Dark Brown Float Frame
A warm, natural wood float frame with rich grain and dark espresso tones. The floating mount brings dimension and an organic elegance to the piece.
Acrylic Mount
The photograph is face-mounted behind optically-clear museum-quality acrylic, creating extraordinary depth, luminosity, and a contemporary floating effect on the wall.
