Crimson Fault
Iceland
From above, Iceland becomes something entirely different. A landscape stripped of familiar reference points, where volcanic earth rises in sculptural formations and unexpected veins of crimson cut through a seemingly endless expanse of charcoal and slate.
I captured this extraordinary terrain with my drone, drawn to the powerful contrast between its dark, sweeping contours and the brilliant mineral tones that appear almost deliberately painted across the surface.
What fascinates me most about this photograph is its ambiguity. At first glance, it could be an abstract painting, an intricate piece of sculpted metal, or even the surface of another planet. Only the tiny vehicle traveling along the road below reveals the monumental scale of the landscape.
There is something remarkably contemporary about Iceland’s volcanic wilderness. Its textures, geometry, and raw geological character create compositions that need no embellishment.
Crimson Fault is my interpretation of that extraordinary intersection between nature and abstraction. Bold, atmospheric, and unapologetically dramatic, this photograph was created to command attention as a large-format, museum-grade acrylic artwork.
A landscape that challenges perspective and invites a closer look.

Every piece is crafted with the same care as the photograph itself. Choose from two handcrafted float frames or a crystal-clear acrylic face mount.

Black Float Frame
A sleek, modern black float frame that suspends the print with a subtle reveal around all edges, giving the artwork a gallery-quality depth and presence.

Dark Brown Float Frame
A warm, natural wood float frame with rich grain and dark espresso tones. The floating mount brings dimension and an organic elegance to the piece.

Acrylic Mount
The photograph is face-mounted behind optically-clear museum-quality acrylic, creating extraordinary depth, luminosity, and a contemporary floating effect on the wall.
