Deep within Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona, the desert reveals a world that exists almost entirely beyond sight.
Here, sandstone shaped by centuries of wind and water twists upward in sweeping layers of crimson, violet and fire. I photographed this scene as light found its way into the narrow canyon, illuminating certain walls while allowing others to disappear into shadow.
What captivated me was the journey of that light. It enters from somewhere unseen, travels across stone that has endured thousands of years, and transforms darkness into extraordinary color.
There is something almost sacred about standing beneath these walls. The canyon reminds us that even in the deepest places, light has a way of finding us.
